Default Best Arabic books for self study

    Assalamu alaykum,

I have been attending Arabic Classes doing Madinah Book 1 but the teacher has left due to personal circumstances. Please recommend the best books for self study.

I would highly recommend that you complete book 1 and, preferably, book 2 of the Madinah series with the aid of the videos here:

    http://www.lqtoronto.com/videos.html

Afterwards, you can go on to either "Arabic Tutor" (which can be download here: http://www.kalamullah.com/learning-arabic.html ) or Lisanul Quran (http://www.albalagh.net/bookstore/?a...view&item=1716 though remember that there are three volumes to the series so you'll have to search albalagh for the other two volumes).

Having said all that, however, if you have the money, you might want to sign up for the shariah program (www.shariahprogram.ca) Their Arabic program is oustanding.

JazakAllahu khayran for your reply. Have you done any courses with Shariahprogram.ca? I prefer not to do online courses and i think they have stopped their Arabic courses for a while.

Yes I have experience with the Shariah Program as it was in 2009&2010.

If you'd prefer not to do online classes (that are live and for which you must pay), then please check out http://www.lqtoronto.com/videos.html

They cover the Madinah books (a three part series). The first part/book of the series is covered in just 18 lessons! I would seriously recommend that you start with at least Book 1 as covered in those videos and then you can go from there deciding how you'd like to continue your studies.
