does it not say in the quran

spend SOME time in earning youre rizq

we were not meant to be robots/drones in the capitalist/material mechanism where we are constantly bombarded to buy more than we earn and be indebted way beyond our income

peace is in zero debt and minimal wordly belongings

a muslims career is worship and dawah and service to mankind in halal pursuits/halal ways

earning rizq is to enable us to do that
The reason for all trouble on earth, is that people have lost sight of their Lord’s Will behind all events. They have lost sight of the hand of the One Who is testing them through those events. They have stopped seeing events as tests from their Lord. Therefore they continue failing those tests. "

    بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

    A`ūdhu billāhi min ash-shaitāni r-rajīm
    b-ismi-llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm

I seek refuge in Allah from Shaitan, the accursed one

Okay so Muslims must strive hard to alter and change the dominant system. They should do this not by just joining a corporation and working for it, we should learn about halal and healthy alternatives that Muslims as a jammah with a leader can bring about. Thousands of Muslims work for banks, they work in other corporations keeping the capitalist system functioning while believing that they are just earning a living a rizq. As individuals we are weak and powerless as a jamma with a leader and with a teaching of the halal alternatives we become powerful.

What we call a 'career' is changing forever as the security of a job won't be there.

Generally speaking, it is a narrative about a person that runs throughout their life and allows them to plan. It provides stability, a way to measure up their choices. It gives them an identity, it speaks of their struggle, it recognises their achievements, roles taken in order to add more depths, decisions made at critical points in their life as they transitioned from one life stage to the next.

Many who are under the age of 30 are pretty stuffed right now as the economic outlook slows and having to take low paying jobs that aren't permanent.

better to focus on an ability to adapt and on a multi skilled ethic

So basically having a career is the main thing? Come on peeps cant we think of other ways of living without riba, without a economy controlled by the bankers going to the south? Cant human beings who have eeman numbering millions come up with a better form of social organization other than to have a well paid job for life with benefits?

No it is not the main thing. One must understand it plays a crucial role in those who think long-term. Lionel Messi didn't become a footballer at 18.

Having more middle class muslims is better for any place where muslims are in number. Being poor holds muslims back. Some see knowledge as a way out of this trap.

As I mentioned before it provides narrative which is so important in life. Just about any major issue with young people's is around identity. If you are having to postpone life events because you are poor or can ill afford to better your lot then your life narrative has yet to begin. You will build up a lot of resentment because the worst that can happen is your best years pass you by and all the potential, talent, energy is taken from you and leaves you nothing to leave behind.

Career today is not the same as yesterday. Now you have keep learning new skills if you are to stay relevant.
