Default Muslim Brotherhood's Morsi urges 'unity' in first speech as Egypt's president-elect

Muslim Brotherhood's Morsi urges 'unity' in first speech as Egypt's president-elect has a statement made by a representative of the Muslim Brotherhood.

"We've been waiting for it for 7,000 years," said Abdul Mawgoud Dardery, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party. "For the first time in history, we have our own president, elected by us. The power of the people is now in the hands of the president -- and the president has to go and move forward."
7,000 years? Did they call themselves the Brotherhood before Muhammad came and they became Muslims? What were they before? The Amon-Ra Brotherhood?

Well, is he talking about Egyptians, in general, or is he talking about the Brotherhood, specifically? How long have the Brotherhood been around?

Muslim brotherhood has defeated all the odds. Inshallah lets pray for them instead of criticizing them.

they have been around since 1928 CE sister, so I guess he is talking about the Egyptians, however, the Muslim Brotherhood have worked so hard and many of their members have suffered so much at the hands of the tyrants that it must feel like 7000 years to many of them.
