You should take a look at this facebook group. It will give you a good idea of the apostate movement, where many of them are from, why they leave Islam etc. You can also engage them if you wish inshAllah

teh apostate movement is one of the plots against Islam so understanding it is important in order to deal with it inshAllah. Many are from your home countries

Well we had a sister on here a few months back who tried debating with on apostate (atheist) on facebook and started having doubts herself, so better perhaps for those not grounded in knowledge to avoid all these Islam bashing sites.

I would also add is that people should be aware of fake apostate stories man years ago I came across an article reputedly about an Aaalim in Pakistan who converted too christianity, I was quite disturbed and shocked after reading it. But several years later I came across the exact same story except the Alim this time was a graduate of Al Azhar and from Egypt, other then that the story was exactly the same.

So alot of these apostate sites have completely made up stories.

The article on fake convert stories is taken from BilalPhilips.com

fake stories of how Muslims converted to Christianity. How do I know? Read the following excerpt from one of the stories:

First the 'convert' says: (emphasis added)
In the end, I managed to convince my mother, as it was for Allah and I joined the Islamic College. Having graduated as an ustaz, I was soon posted to my neighbourhood…

    And then:
My trip to Mecca for the Haj (pilgrimage) was tiring but eventful. I did not have the rare opportunity to see inside the holy Kabah and the holy idols inside, which Prophet Muhammud had helped to place, as explained in Bukhari’s Hadith

An Ustaz (scholar) in Islaamic Studies is saying that there are idols inside the Kabah and that too placed by Muhammad (saw) himself!?!?!

This clearly shows that the author is deliberately trying to spread misinformation about Islaam and wants to convey to possible reverts to Islaam that it is religion of idol worship.

In fact most of the Christian sites use this tactic of false convert stories but it's not always possible to prove it

AlhamduliLlaah I was able to catch another site posting fake stories of Muslims leaving Islaam. See the false information imparted here. That the attempt is deliberate is known through the claim that the 'convert' has done detailed study about the topic.
For Islamic Education, I had to study about marriage in detail to do well. So, I learnt all the stuff and got the highest grade anyone can get for Islamic Education. And guess what? Because I know it so well, I know that there is a lot of discrimination against women in Islam. Things like a father and grandfather can marry a girl/woman to whomever they want even if the girl/woman doesn’t want to marry that person… In addition, I learned things like women couldn’t be witnesses in Syariah Courts and things like that

The first point here is a total lie whereas the second is a distorted version of the truth.

Here's yet another extract from a false convert story aimed at spreading misinformation about Islaam.

As I started thinking about my life and the Quran, I realized all Muslims, even the prophet Muhammad, would go to Hell for certain sins they committed in their lifetime.

This is a common ploy of the Christian Missionaries. They first inform gullible victims that Jesus (God) is Love and just by believing in the Crucifixion, you will be assured of Paradise. Whereas the concept of God in Islaam is so harsh that no one will be spared from Hell and that even Prophet Muhammad (saw) was not sure of where he would end up. For this purpose they quote an ayat of the Qur'aan out of context. Here there have gone a step further by saying that even our beloved Prophet (saw) would have to go through hell. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I have to agree with this.

When Allah (swt) wants the person to misguide then he/she is misguided. Even this whole creation makes effort to bring them back to islam, then you can not.

The best thing what I learnt about these people is to stay quiet and show your akhlaaq.
True teachings of tassawuf and tabligh is being distorted by very own people who tell others they are distorting the teachings.

The fake apostate story's are meant to create a emotional attack on Muslims having doubts where they get the impression that "maybe my doubts have no answers and its all wrong in this way and so these guys all left Islam". No different to the case mentioned Quran who join and leave Islam to create doubts.

But there are some venomous real apostates attacking Islam from atheist secular argument in a hidden way in Muslim countries. Most venomous aposatates barely had a connection with the Muslim community in a real religious way and turn apostates due to some ideological inclination or movement like communism or new atheism or just real fake money scams. Those doubtful apostates just lay low or problaly had some non-muslim love affair. Using force to attack these venomous apostates should be combined with ideological refutation of them. Otherwise they become martyrs and potrayed as such by enemies of islam.

Not to forget the ignorant responses of muslims help the apostates as always.

The way forward is to have Islamic graduates specialise in a certain field where they can deal with them concentrated. We don't need every one to be a mufti giving fatwas.
