Default Do you pray salat with your husband/wife in your home??

I have never been married since becoming a muslim.

But I plan on only marrying a muslimah to compete my Deen.

Several times I have been at muslim friends homes and noticed that they don't do salat together.

This seemed odd to me, so I asked my friend if he and his wife prayed together; and he told me "No"

I just assumed the the husband is the Imam of the home; and that married couples prayed together?

Question: Do you and your spouse make salat together or separate??

I am not talking about jummah.

But salat at home because the masjid is located too far away for every prayer.

Is it permissible for husband and wife to pray in Jamaat? If so, do both get additional reward than praying individually? Can the wife provide "luqma"

Not sure how one would translate "luqma" into English.

It is preferable for a female to perform her Salaat individually. However,
if she performs Salaat with her husband, she should stand completely behind
him without any limb of hers being in line with the husband. The wife may
give Luqma (correction) to the husband only if she joins him in Salaat.

Prayer: Can A Husband & Wife Pray in Congregation?
When husband leads wife (alone) in Salaah, where does wife stand? Also....if husband and wife are making Salah at home....is it better for them to make Jama'ah or pray alone?

    Walaikum assalam,

It is best for her to stand completely behind her husband, though it is valid, according to the relied upon opinion, as long as his heel is in front of hers. [Radd al-Muhtar]

It is not disliked for a man to pray in congregation with his wife alone. In fact, the basic reward of praying in congregation is attained in this way. It is better, for the man, to pray in congregation with his wife than alone if he misses congregational prayer in the mosque. [Radd al-Muhtar]

This is very useful for people whose work schedule makes them miss maghrib or isha in the mosque; they should make arrangements with their spouses to pray together. However, the fuqaha caution that this would be blameworthy to make a habit without excuse, as it is expected of Muslim men that they pray at the mosque.

Abu Hurayra (Allah be pleased with him) related that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said, “If people knew what [reward] there is in the call to prayer and the first row, and then they found no way but to draw ots [to attain them], they would have drawn lots. And if they knew what [reward] there is in being early, they would have raced each other to it. And if they knew what [reward] there is in the night prayer [isha] and dawn prayer, they would come to it, even if crawling.” [Bukhari 580, and elsewhere]

    And Allah knows best.

    Wassalam,

    Faraz Rabbani

    Assalamu'alaikum

I often perform salah at home with my wife and my kids. I become Imam, of course.

I think he might have been asking in the case that the mosque is too far away.

well if one has a car that shouldn't be hard. there are accounts of how much importance the sahaba (ra) gave to attending the congregational prayer five times a day that is simply astonishing. our lives would be much better if we made even half the effort.
but if it is virtually impossible to make it to the congregation then sh. rabbani's answer is good enough.
