Default Why Indo-Pak sisters no longer use Afghani Burqa for purdah?

If i am not wrong then during 1930's and 40's the Afghani burqa was very much prevalent among the middle and upper middle class sections of Indian muslim women (pre-partition) mainly in north india (mainly Sarhad,Punjab,UP,) but now its only limited to the Pashtun tribal areas and Khyber-Pashtunkhwa region of Pakistan, some rural parts of Punjab and maybe in parts of UP like Saharanpur,Deoband.
My question is why sisters have abondened this form of burqa in majority of Indo-Pak as it serves the purdah purpose much better than the conventional black abaya style burqa? Please shed some light on it.

    Jazak Allah

Looks good. Just checked in google images. I have never seen people here wearing this and I do not know why.

this burqa is still followed in U.P,only difference is afghani burqa is blue colored, in india it is similar to afghani burqa only it is black colored.I have seen in madrasa.
This time I have seen at madrasa girls wearing qameez which is similar to long frock, qameez without chak(side cutting).
I am more interested in knowing shalwar qameez, this what typical indian women wears at home.I want to know what is sunnah way of dressing for women.

I dont think people abandoned it bcos they do not like it. People just go with like how other women wear in the society. As long as one observe proper purdah, be it afghani or other ones, I think it should be just fine. Allahu alam

Actually here in Pakistan what i have observed is that many people cast glances and stare at sisters who are wearing the abaya style burqa especially those sitting on motorbike while these same men never cast glance on the sisters wearing the afghani burqa.so i was wondering maybe if those sisters were wearing the afghani one then this staring would not have been there.

Even with the other burqa, when the face is covered what is there for these men to stare really? Let Allah SWT grant us all taqwa. Ameen
I am not denying those afghan burqas are looking really good but as far as purpose is achieved with other burqas, it should be fine I think.

Khair I will leave as I dont feel there is any use in discussing more.

Yes you are right sister the purpose of shariah purdah can even be achieved by the long chador/sheet without the typical burqa also. no doubt about that.
