Some common misconceptions from the video:

"there is music"
Its not music, its beat-boxing. Sounds made from the mouth.

"2million figure is a lie"
Google: international crisis group. You can find it on their website. Also, even if it was only a quarter of that figure, does that mean we shouldn't help??

"the report says Nov 2012 on the video so its fake"
The video is for ILLUSTRATIVE PURPOSES ONLY. Do u think the actual report even looks the way it does on the video?? Use common sense inshaAllah.

"the campaign and video was made by Christians"
The campaign is run by www.mercymissionworld.org - a reputable Islamic organisation which works in several countries. The video was made for them by a Muslim design agency called The Play Studio. We are all Muslims.

"the video promotes christianity"
If you don't know about the problem, how will you tackle it? We are spreading awareness of what is going on in Indonesia so we can get your support to put an end to it.

it is sad that many people who are critical of this have only 'i am from indonesia and i know better' as proof and 'i don't like it'

im not a fan of the video but i think if the mercymission would open up more on exactly how they will spend their money then most people will be satisfied.

First step Muslims should unitedly take inorder to save all the Maryams, Fatimas, Ayeshas, etc of different countries is to revive the Sunnah of Prophet(Saw), of making seperate section for women in Mosques, ATLEAST FOR FRIDAY PRAYER. We need to encourage them to attend friday prayer, esp the Khutba, because it works as emaan increaser. When Men benefit this from Friday Khutba, then why wouldn't the women benefit from it?

Most of the muslims learn the religious issues through friday sermons, but unfortunately we have deprived our women from this barakah, and now we are crying over the outcome of our mistakes.

When we can arrange things for our women to go out and seek education, then why can't we arrange some sections in our Mosques for the women to attend Friday prayers?

Think about it, Ya Muslimeen. Its high time.

You implement the Shariah you will see the results. Inshallah.

but the use of figures that are presented is somewhat misleading.

to put it simply the Christians rew by considerably less than half a million heads a year. whilst that same period the growth of the Muslims was about 4 million heads a year and at the end of the day there are still a massive 207 million Indonesian Muslims compared to a meagre 16 million Indonesian Christians.

with all due respect, even if muslim percentage declined by 1% as your statistics show, this would equal a 2.5 million drop as the percentage of indonesians is 250million so the 2million figure given in the vid would be correct

it says its associated with Mercy Mission which is associated with a Salafi college called Kauthar Institute (not to be confused with Kauthar Academy).

Kauthar Institute are Salafi, but not extreme in it. At least one brother who posts on here studies with them that I know of.

I don't like the video, for me it is too much like negative propaganda in how it goes on about the growth of Christianity, rather than going on about the need for a growth in Islam. It makes Christianity look strong and Islam weak, better to do the opposite.

I think that this initiative is amazing and inshAllah it will serve the ummah. We cant close our eyes to the problems teh muslims face and any efforts to stregnthen the ummah and ward off kufr is good inshAllah

I think this is an excellent initiative that shoudl be supported inshALlah and its not being negative, if 2million muslims became christian thats a problem taht shoudl be countered inshAllah and we should be made aware of it. I would want to know if something like this is happening. Why kid ourselves that everything is all dandy with the ummah?

Christianity is the BIGGEST ideological threat to Islam...

Christianity is the only other 'organized' religion. They want to convert all others to their religion. They know that Islam is their ONLY hurdle among religions..In Christian missionary channels , they "specifically" have segments refuting Islam... etc ...Why ONLY Islam? They don't refute Judaism , Hinduism etc etc..Well because unlike us fool Muslims , Christians have identified their target well!

Muslims must wake up and smell the coffee...Why don't Muslims start a mass dawah campaign in Africa , rural China etc etc? Any Maulana Sahib in this forum reading this? Any person that can contact Arabs over it? Arabs have the resources....they must fund Islamic global Dawah...

Inshallah Muslims can still counter this Inshallah!..but if we don't do anything...like we have been not doing anything since 50 years ...then Christianity can get a huge advantage over Islam

I agree with most of this but two points. 1st dont pin everything on arabs. This is a disease I see in the muslims right now, like everyrthing is arabs fault and arabs need to sort everything.

Start with yourself, what will you do? you say efforts are needed so why not get involved in this excellent intiative?

dear sister, fear Allah, I understand that some will not like shaikh tawfique choudry due to him apparently being a "salafi" but with all due respect, he's only trying to help the muslims in indonesia. We all shoudl be working and doing something practical and beneficial for the ummah rather than bickering or criticising others efforts and initiatives. He has done far more than me or you ever will for islam so inshAllah lets make dua for the shaikh and wish them well in their efforts and maybe even go one step further and help them in their efforts inshAllah. At bare minimum at least wish them well and dont oppose their befforts. They never attack your efforts in dawah. We need to have more tolerance for each other. do our own thing and respect others
