Is drawing pictures for gaming purposes halal or haram?

Assalamualikum

I'm currently interested in game programming but then I realized the issue with drawing and stuff. I've been looking into it and I couldn't find an answer. (So...) Is it permissible to draw in a computer? If not, how about if I draw something without living properties like if I draw a eyeless living creature? And I also heard it is somewhat permissible because a computer after all is a bunch of binary numbers (0s and 1s), but I can't really trust that source.
