I do not understand the need of these ulama to hide their fatwas, surely they should be propagating them to everyone so everyone knows what their opinion is. I really do not see the point to your 'secrecy'. Why dont you just declare in a summary what the fatwa says...instead of acting as if you are being accused of something. Why are you being coy?

We are all being told that Democracy is the only way...and any criticism of this is buried....it means we are all being told quite forcefully that we must all adopt this new religion of democracy because it is the greatest thing since we got sliced bread (a British expression meaning just wonderful).

i doubt US would lose much if assad is replaced by secular liberals in a democratic government who wish to please US.

US wishes to have such client groups who would protect Israel. But the situation is out of control since the great Damascus operation which eliminated Bashar's inner circle. Western powers became panic and angry. Proof: British foreign sectary William Hague condemn that attack! Look for US defense sectary Leon Panetta's reaction aftermath of that incidence as well.

brother israel and US have just one enemy capable of thwarting them. their whole foreign policy goes around this. even if lets say some 'islamists' were appointed in Syria via election it will still be a victory for US. democratic muslim governments with cordial relations with US pose no threat to either israel or US.
this was achieved with bashar for many years. however when the people rose up it was important for US to install a democratically elected leader in his place so that syria does not 'fall' to jihadists. THAT would threaten israel like anything.
