    Default Alcohol ingredients

I have been using an anti-perspirant which contains Ethyl alcohol. I was unaware that it contained this and have stopped using it now as i have been told it's haraam. However for the period that i was using would i have been sinning? Also would the salah and my worship for this period be accepted?

I have found an alternate product but i'm not sure of the ingredients.

Alcohol denat, Aluminium chloride, Aluminium lactate, Propylene glycol, Glyceryl stearate, Cetyl palmitate, Cera microcristallina, Trihydroxystearin.

    Any advice?

Committing haraam by mistake carries no sin uopn you, thats 100% definite inshAllah

as for whether using it is haraam, Im not saying haraam or halal as im not orthorised to make that judgement but i ouldnt say its clear cut as you arent consuming alcohol, its only consuming intoxicant which is clear cut. everything else requires a trusted alim inshAllah who you feel comfortable with to investigate. even paint stripper contains alchol, as does the stuff used to purify the surgeons knife, so dont be quik to say haraam

Any alcohol which is not derived from grapes and dates is not counted as Khamr. The alcohol used in sprays is not khamr, hence permissible to use.

there is ikhtilaaf so if others consider them haraam to use then let them be. I personally dont consider them haraam but didnt want to put my views accross like a fatwa but i respect if others prefer not to use them. respecting ikhtilaaf is a key concept the ummah must learn to grasp inshAllah within the pemrissable boundries of ikhtilaaf

Some Deobandis, such as Ml. A.S. Desai, consider it haraam, regardless of source.

However this product is not like most other sprays and contains ethyl alcohol, this is khamr right?

Also the other product contains alcohol denat would this then be permissible?
