Default Help on a little arabic project

    Assalamualikum,

I am a self learning Arabic student and have been studying for about a year and a half now. I have been through all the major series (madina/arabic tutor etc) and books and made extensive notes. As part of my revision and consolidation, I had hoped to compile all my notes into one document with many rules and examples, I have decided to use the work tasheel al nahw as a base and to expand it with much more detail and examples. My only issue is that I have been unable to convert the pdf file into an editable text. I have tried about a dozen pdf to word/text sites and programs but to no avail. The best result I got was that the english was fine but the arabic becomes written backwards, and im unable to undo the process. I also emailed the editor of the work but he didnt provide me with anything (Allah reward them for their work). I hope to make my finished work available to all (may be others can add to it as well) and I may also write a preface/article of some sorts, outlining some advice to self studying students, I know there are many of us out there and Im sure those reading this can appreciate this, when I say I wasted months and months because of no guidance . If any one can help me with my problem ill be greatly appreciative.

    waalaikum salam,
i know its time consuming, why dont you retype the whole thing?take it as a revision exercise..
Actually you can easily edit the pdf if they are not from scan pages.. I'm using foxit reader..1. click on the view and convert it to textview..2.from textview, you can copy and paste them on word..3. after you've done with editing, reconvert them into pdf by using primopdf which is a free software.

I just tried it, unfortunately the same thing. تسهيل comes instead of لَيَهَسَت, its strange as I dont get this with other arabic texts I transfer to word.

if youre using foxit reader you can insert your text on the pdf itself.. try clickin on the comment and choose typewriter.. i 've just found out we could underline, hightlight and draw clouds on it..just tinker with the comment and tools buttons. just try it! insyaAllah..i think you can snapshot and paste it on word.the arabic words came out fine..
