Default Hajj/Umrah - carrying footwear in a bag that is worn during Namaz at mosque

Salaam - i was advised in another thread to take a draw-string bag with shulder straps with me to Umrah, to keep my slippers in whilst inside the masjids (to avoid them getting stolen). The rucksack containing the slippers would be worn whilst inside the masjid, including during prayer.

The thought of bringing the slippers into the masjid haramayn brought doubt to my mind - is there any fiqh ruling on doing this? Is it common practice?

    Jazakallah khair

p.s i performed a search on this forum, and recommended fiqh question sites but didnt see this addressed. I apologise in advance if i missed the answer

    As-Salamu-Alaykum,

I asked a similar question from the Ulema at Jamiatul Ulama KZN a few months ago. I asked them whether I could put my slippers in a bag, and then wear that bag during Salaah. From what I can remember, they said that this was okay. Make sure, however, that there is no najasat (impurity) on the slippers.

You can leave the draw-string bag, containing the slippers, in one of the many shoe shelves there. Just remember where you kept them.

I hope the respected scholars on this forum correct me if I've made a mistake, and may Allah forgive me, Ameen.

Please make du'a for me, and the Ummah, when you are in the Holy Cities.

I've read similar things in making sure slippers are not impure. Going to side with caution and leave slippers in a bag by shoe racks though, had a family member that did the same - even then his footwear got pinched sometimes! but only 4 times during his stay, so he bought new ones when that happened, on sale at the mosques. The aim is to not pinch anybody else's, just because yours have gone missing.

Will make dua Inshallah, have made a note. Thanks for the advice, salaam.
