Their practices of getting nearer to God aren't from Qur'an and the Sunnah so would paying to see them be of no benefit. Non Muslim tourists seem to be interested in seeing them but it should be pointed out this is not true Islam?

Dhikr is from the Quran and sunnah. And no specific restriction in modality is directly specified in Quran and sunnah.
So it depends on the fiqh ijthihad issue of whether movement is allowed or not in dhikr. There is no unanimous opinion on this.

These methods have been used for years to become stronger in Islam and closer to Allah.
From what I know these methods have been passed down from father to son for many of years
Don't disrespect what we don't know

- Turkish Mevlevis are Sunni, Ashari and Ottoman Hanafi
.- American Mevlevis are mostly a Sunni Muslim meets New Age dialectical product
.- Fake Mevlevis just like to whirl, wear funny clothes and make money, many arent even Muslims or are zindiqs and libertines
.- as for permissibility of whirling there are Ottoman Hanafi fatawa allowing it
Whirling and Mevlevi traditions are mostly from existing Rumi's son not from him. Mevlevi tareeqa is still in their family but it is not what it once was.
Rumi did use music in sama and for dawa though and he was a big Hanafi scholar of his time so we have to be careful what we say about these things.
