    Salaamun alaykum,

In huwa (surah najm verse 4) and inna hu (surah tariq many places). What is the difference?

    wa'alaikum assalaam,

"in...illa..." means "only", so "in huwa illa..." means "it/he is only..."

"inna" means "verily" and is a statement of emphasis, so "inna hu..." means "verily he/it..."
The messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, said: "The servant speaks words, the consequences of which he does not realize, and for which he is sent down into the depths of the Fire further than the distance between the east and the west."

    [Bukhari and Muslim].
