Animal testing of cosmetic products halal or haram??

Ok, so I've stopped wearing makeup, but I've got to think about something makeup-related that I want to ask about.


My question is:
Does animal testing of cosmetic products have anything to say for whether it's haram or halal? I began thinking about this when I read about how much the prophet (pbuh) respected animals, and we have all heard stories about how they test the different products on animals.

I have read a lot of words against painful vivisection over the years, but it is interesting issue over whether these things are not halal because they were tested in these ways as in many countries even every non-organic (and many organic - organic here meaning as opposed to synthetic not as in naturally produced) food ingredient has been tested in very cruel ways too.

I guess it is ask a scholar time.

We must follow guidelines to ensure our food is halal and that the animal does not suffer upon death.

This in itself will answer your question sister. Of course it is haram to harm any animal and commit atrocious painful tests for the sake of beauty or anything for that matter.
