Canada will be interesting this time as Hilal Committee of Toronto and the very newly formed Crescent Committee both have different criterias. The former follows regional based sighting and the later follows global (any country towards Canada's East with verifiable news sighting i.e like Wifaq and Imam Zaid Shakir;s and Shaykh Hamza Yusuf's CresentWatch's criteria). Crescent Committee have already accepted the news from S.Africa (though of course will also sight themselves in Canada and take reports from Canada, USA, Caribbean and maybe below. in the next hour or so). Plus as Barbados have also reported positive so Hilal Committee of Toronto should be ok to accept that report as a regional confirmation which satisfy them too. So in Toronto too this time round Eid should also be on Sunday for all. Allah knows best wrt future if S.Africa reports positive thus acceptable for Crescent Committee but if theres not any reports from the Americas it wont, at present, satisfy Hilal Committee of Toronto criteria so you could end with a split.

Barbados will be celebrating Eid on Sunday. The moon was sighted in other Islands nearby. Eid Mubarak!
