Default When Hitler attacked the Jews

When Hitler attacked the Jews I was not a Jew, therefore I was not concerned. And when Hitler attacked the Catholics, I was not a Catholic, and therefore, I was not concerned. And when Hitler attacked the unions and the industrialists, I was not a member of the unions and was not concerned. Then Hitler attacked me and the Protestant church - and there was nobody left to be concerned.

    -- Pastor Martin Niemöller
Imam al-Zarqani said in his book Manahil al-Irfan: 'Our Scholars agreed that if a word carries 99 aspects of disbelief and one aspect of faith, it must be interpreted according to the best of meanings, which is faith'.

Sidi Faqir, I love this quote and have been looking for it everywhere. It should teach us a lot of lessons for our present situation...What are we waiting for?

    yes i love that quote!
its about how when hitler was persecuted the people little by little the people didnt care, as long as they were not being targeted. eventually hed worked his way through to everyone and then there was nobody left to look after this person. goes to show how we should stick up for each other as wel end up with no friends if we dont.

This quote is very significant, shows how humans never care about others as long as they are not being affected.

When the British Government started talking about banning groups such as HT, I immediately thought of this quotation. We may not agree with what some muslims do, but if we don't stand up now, soon us "normal" muslims will be targetted.

They've already turned jihad into a dirty word, synonymous with terrorism.

As these various groups were attacked one after the other, the writer was not worried as he was safe. But when Hitler started to attack him, there was no one left to help him (as they had all been locked up before when he had ignored their plight).
