    Default Owaisiah tariqas?

    Assalaamu alaikum,

I have for the last while been guided by a Naqshbandi shaykh and it has alhamdulillah been very beneficial for me. Where I am today is so far ahead of where I could have imagined. I never took bayah with this shaykh and now it seems I might have to move on. The only problem is my lack of ability to go and be in physical contact with the shaykh and I am assured that this is very important in the tariqa.

I am actually in a pretty isolated area with few muslims and a long way to anything for another couple years. I could try to keep doing what I'm doing for another couple years and then find a shaykh wherever I end up. Alternately I have been told about owaisiah tariqas that do not require the physical presence of a shaykh. This would be ideal for my situation, but I am somewhat unsure about the idea.

I had someone who I don't even know who they are send me a message in regards to the Naqshbandiah Owaisiah at http://www.owaisiah.com/ . Does anyone know anything about them or is anyone involved with them?

I also was encouraged to contact the Tareeqah Muhammadiyah people at http://www.zawiyah.org/ . I have been asking them questions and they are sending me some information, but I had the same questions about them. Is anyone involved with them or know anything about them?

Any general illumination on the topic of owaisiah tariqas would also be appreciated. Jazak'allah khair.

You could invite the shaykh over.

Hmm. I know some of the tasawwuf.org people (well one actually) and although what they do is amazing and I have nothing but good to say about them, they just aren't for my situation. I don't want to explain, but just know that it has to do with me and not them. May Allah shower boundless blessings on them for their efforts.

Maybe this wasn't a good place to ask my question. Anyhow can people who read this make du'a for me that I am guided and make the best decision.

    As Salaam Alaikum,

Physical distance from the Shaikh does not have to be a barrier. Many people are travelling the path and their shaikh is in another country. My shaikh mentioned once that sometimes closeness can be a barrier. So for everyone is a range. This may not directly answer your questions about the 2 tariqas you mentioned but I thought I would bring that up.

    WHAT?

I have never heard of this - very interesting. Do you have more information?

And I also heard any time tariqa is given by a dead person to a living person it is called a Uwaisi tariqa - such as Shaykh `Abdal Qadir Jilani giving tariqa to someone alive today. I still do not really understand this kind of stuff.

it's not impossible for Allah for such a guidence. i personally knows shayukh that are uwaisi of the great aulias. why not i believe it as personally i've such an experience
but remember ISLAH is through live shaikh, uwaisi is just FAYIZ or GUIDENCE, and the uwaisi guidence in not for everyone except for those whom Allah want to give.
