Recently he was under strict surveillance of the govt. Even his son was kidnapped by the Police secretly.

It is with great sadness that we inform you that one of our elders and Shouyoukh has passed into the mercy of Allah.

Shaikh Mufti Fazlul Haq Ameeni (RA) was born in the year 1943 and passed away today at 12:30AM (December 12 2012) at the age of 69 after a lifetime of political struggle against the secular elements in Bangladesh. He was also vice chancellor in the Lalbagh Madarsa of Dhaka were he taught for several decades after having finished his education with numerous erudite scholars. One that stands out is Shaykh Shams al-Haq Fareedpuri (RA) who was one of the scholars that helped formulate the Islamic constitution of Pakistan.

I had the honour of meeting Shaykh during my trip to Bangladesh in 2010 and it was quite visible then that he was being harassed by the president who had just come in to power. In order to meet him, I had to have several interviews with his collegues so that they could be sure that I did not pose any threat on his life as they found it rather unbelieveable that someone would come from so far to meet a Shaykh just to read Ahadith with him.

May Allah grant him highest status in Jannah.

Couple of years back the pro-Indian, pro-western secularist government of Bangladesh kidnapped one of Hazrat Mufti Amini's sons to blackmail the Mufti (rh).
He was virtually under house arrest for 20 months until his death. The taghut government has imposed severe restrictions on his family to silence him.

It has been reported that hundreds of thousands of Muslims attended his Janazah. Here is a snapshot of the Salatul Janazah:

Mufti Shaheb was the son in law of Hazrat Maulana Muhammadullah Hafejji Hujur, one of the khalifas of Hazrat Hakimul Ummat Thanvi Rah in Bangladesh. He used to teach Bukhari Sharif in Jamia Qurania Lalbagh. May Allah SWT grant him Jannatul Ferdaus, Ameen.
